The Pale White – Second Place

Yesterday my mates The Pale White released their new single ‘Second Place‘. I was lucky enough to be asked to do the artwork again, following on from a couple of months ago when they released ‘Let You Down

Along with the release of the single we get a glimpse of some new press shots I did with them a couple of weeks back. I cant wait to share some more of these.

Sweden – Transfigure

Autosave-File vom d-lab2/3 der AgfaPhoto GmbHNot long had I been back from Iceland before I was off abroad again. This time destined for a small town in Sweden called Alvesta. I was with my sister Grace, her boyfriend Lewis and our friend Greg.

Grace and Lewis play in a band together called Transfigure. They were playing a synth/goth festival called Kalabalik and had me there doing front of house sound for them, and Greg doing a projection show!

We set off for Edinburgh very early in the morning to fly to Copenhagen, where we would catch a train to Alvesta. We had five huge luggage cases between the 4 of us! Each not containing clothes… But vintage synthesisers, bubble-wrapped relentlessly! We couldn’t afford these instruments not making the journey in one piece so the wrapping was necessary. We boarded our flight and set off on our travels, catching the planned train at Copenhagen no bother, arriving in Alvesta to be picked up and taken to the festival.

Review – Sun Dance

Living in the same house as Adam Hope (Sun Dance) I’ve heard a lot of these songs from the start of their writing process, often just played acoustically in our shared living room. So when I finally heard these recorded versions I was incredibly shocked as I’d not known what to expect.

The indie, yet grungy pop shows off quality songwriting and boasts clever guitar lines that will circulate your brain hours after listening. When listening to these songs I can imagine a live performance that would be spectacular, so I look forward to seeing Sun Dance book in some live shows.

Out of the two songs currently on Soundcloud, I’d have to say that ‘Show No Sympathy’ is my stand out song. However being in the lucky position I am, I’ve had the privilege of listening to some of the unreleased tracks. My favourite song still lies in this pile and I can’t wait for everyone to hear what Sun Dance has in store.
